SIDE SALAD

Microsoft’s compact, multimodal AI 🤖🔥

At its Build event, Microsoft unveiled Phi-3-vision. It’s a 4.2 billion-parameter, multimodal model that analyzes and comprehends text, images, charts, and more.

What’s so great about it?

Phi-3-vision excels in tasks like optical character recognition (OCR), chart analysis, and diagram understanding. It quickly and efficiently processes real-world images and has significant performance and cost advantages over larger language models.

Is that it?

Microsoft also made its whole suite of Phi-3 models available via Microsoft Azure AI Studio. They are cost-effective and compact, which allows you to use them on your devices without connecting to a network.

Get rich, or Phi trying. 😂
