On Monday, NVIDIA unveiled Edify 3D. It’s an AI that creates detailed 3D objects from text descriptions or images in just two minutes.

What can it make?

It creates high-quality 3D models with 4K textures, ready for games, movies, and AR/VR.

How does it work?

First, it creates multiple views of an object, then combines them into a complete 3D model with clean structures artists can modify.

What makes it so special?

It creates “quad meshes.” These are 3D models that are ready for production with little editing needed.

Can it do more than just objects?

Yes, it can create entire 3D environments by combining multiple objects into scenes.
