Deloitte's $440K AI report was fake 🫣

Deloitte had a hell of a Monday. It signed a massive deal with Anthropic the same day it refunded $440K for a government report. Someone has a case of the Mondays.

What happened?

Australia's government ordered Deloitte to refund part of a contract. It created a report filled with fake, AI-generated citations.

What’s Deloitte?

One of the Big Four accounting firms. It does audits, consults, taxes, and financial advisory services.

What’s this about Anthropic?

Deloitte announced a deal to roll out Claude to all 500,000 global employees. It's Anthropic's largest enterprise deployment ever.

What's the partnership?

Deloitte will create AI personas tailored for different jobs. Accountants get one version. Software developers get another. They're also launching a Claude Center of Excellence to help teams adopt the chatbot.

Is this a good idea?

Deloitte joins McKinsey and other huge firms betting big on AI. But it’s already automating entry-level consulting jobs. Senior consultants struggle to advise clients on AI adoption while producing hallucinated reports.

Robin William's daughter hates your AI 😵

Robin Williams' daughter begged people to stop sending her AI videos of her father. It's part of a disturbing trend.

Huh?

Zelda Williams posted on Instagram asking people to stop sending her AI videos of her dad, who died in 2014. “It's dumb, it's a waste of time and energy, and believe me, it's NOT what he'd want.”

What trend?

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the internet is flooded with AI slop videos. Many of these are of dead people, with captions like “bring your loved ones back to life.” TikTok users send these to grieving families, thinking they'll appreciate it.

What did Zelda say?

She called it “disgusting, over-processed hotdogs out of the lives of human beings.” People aren't creating art, they're “puppeteering” the dead for likes, views, and cheap dopamine.

Why are people doing this?

Clout. Engagement. Inability to create original content. They don't care that they're using someone's grief to build their audiences.
