New AI video generation features 🤖 🎥

On Monday, Runway unveiled Gen-3 Alpha. It’s a new model that generates video from text prompts and images.

What’s so great about it?

Runway claims this version is faster, higher quality, more consistent, and handles motion better than Gen-2. It generates 10-second clips in 90 seconds.

What’s under the hood?

It leverages “a new infrastructure built for large-scale multimodal training.” It was trained with images and videos simultaneously, which makes its outputs more realistic.

Cool. Is that it?

More models are coming “soon” that are also trained on this new infrastructure.

When can I use Gen-3 Alpha?

Runway said it would be available in “days.” Paying customers get it first, then free subscribers will get access in the future.
